Individually, your risk of developing prostate cancer doubles if one of your family members is diagnosed with it. If two of your family members suffer from prostate cancer, the risk increases 5 fold.
Your ethnicity also plays an important role in prostate health. African-American men are 65% more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer and twice as likely to die from it. Asians however, are the least likely to develop this disease.
Your diet also plays an important role in your prostate health as well as your overall health. Fruits and vegetables, in particular, cooked tomatoes are particularly good for prostate health. A diet high in saturated fats and meats, and being overweight, all increase your risk of prostate cancer.
Lifestyle also plays an important role in prostate health. Regular exercise and a good level of fitness will improve your prostate health.
